§ 153.03. Compensation of city officers and employees.

  • (a)

    Officers and employees of the City shall receive as compensation for their services such salaries, wages and other emoluments as may be provided in the annual budget or other action, order, resolution or ordinance of Council. Fees paid to City officers and employees for documents or services rendered in the performance of official duty shall be paid over by them to the City and shall not be deemed to constitute compensation to them personally.

    (b)

    As required by W. Va. Code, § 8-5-12, the following salaries for elected officials shall be as follows:

    (1)

    The annual salary of the Mayor of the City shall be $18,000.00 and said official shall also be entitled to reimbursements for travel for City-related activities, not to exceed budgeted amounts.

    (2)

    The annual salary of the Recorder shall be $2,400.00.

    (3)

    The annual salary of the appointed Treasurer shall be $6,000.00.

    (4)

    The annual salary of each Councilperson shall be $2,400.00.
