§ 1711.02. Definitions.

For the purpose of this Article, the following words, terms, and phrases shall have the meanings herein set out:

(1)

Fire Marshal means the West Virginia State Fire Marshal and/or his designated representatives.

(2)

City of Hurricane Building Code means the entire contents of Article 1711, the State Building Code as promulgated and codified in WV CSR 87-4-1, and all the referenced national or international codes.

(3)

ANSI means American National Standards Institute, 11 West 42nd St., New York, NY 10036.

(4)

ASTM means ASTM International, 100 Barr Harbor Drive, P.O. Box C700, West Conshohocken, PA 19428-2959.

(5)

Building Code means all aspects of safe building construction and mechanical operations and all safety aspects related to building construction and mechanical operations.

(6)

ICC or International means International Code Council, 5203 Leesburg Pike, Suite 708, Falls Church, Virginia 22041-3401.

(7)

NFPA means National Fire Protection Association, 1 Batterymarch Park, P.O. Box 9101, Quincy, MA 02269-9101.

(8)

City or local jurisdiction means the City of Hurricane.
