§ 305.03. Installation and maintenance of traffic control devices.

(a)

The Chief of Police or other officer designated by the Mayor with the approval of Council shall place and maintain all traffic control devices, including signs, markings and signals, when and as required by the provisions of this Traffic Code or other ordinances of the City, to make such provisions effective. All traffic control devices placed within the City shall conform to the requirements and specifications of the manual for a uniform system of traffic control devices promulgated by the State Department of Highways.

(b)

No traffic control device shall be placed upon any street which is part of the State highway system except by permission of the State Commissioner of Highways.
