§ 103.04. Officers in addition to elective officers; salaries; clerk.

  • (a)

    In addition to the municipal authorities mentioned in Section 103.01, the City shall have a City Manager, Treasurer, Municipal Court Judge, Chief of Police, one or more City Solicitors, Building Code Enforcement Official, Humane Officer or Officers and such number of police officers as Council may direct. All the officers named in this and the preceding sections shall be paid proper salaries, which shall be fixed by Council.

    (b)

    The Mayor shall appoint the City Treasurer, Municipal Court Judge, Chief of Police, City Solicitors, Building Code Enforcement Official, and Humane Officer or Officers, and, except for Humane Officers and City Solicitors, these appointments shall require confirmation by Council.

    (c)

    The City Recorder may be appointed to serve also as City Treasurer.

    (d)

    A clerk may be hired, at a salary provided in the annual budget, to act as assistant to City officials and Clerk of Council. The City Recorder may fill this position.
